So you’ve probably played Guild Wars now since 2005, played all the expansions, got all of the achievements, and completed every quest. Leveling your alt seems to have lost its appeal and PvP just isn’t fun anymore. At this point, you’re just waiting around for the Guild Wars 2 Release Date.
Well, so am I. Read on and I’ll show you the secret to ordering Guild Wars 2, as well as some essential preparation steps for this much needed expansion.

ArenaNet has been hard at work ever since the 2007 announcement of Guild Wars 2. To many that heard this, their first question was when is the actual guild wars 2 release date? Well unfortunately there still isn’t an answer to that question as ArenaNet has such an abundance of ideas they still want to implement in the game.
Well, don’t go crazy and give up just yet. There are a few important things you can do to get ready for the release date.
Step 1: Pre Order Guild Wars 2
I’m going to be playing the game before anyone else. Do you know why? Because the game will arrive on my doorstep on release day!
I don’t have to fight a bunch of dumb crazed fans to maybe get a copy. I just purchased the game at Amazon.com and simply selected release date shipping.

Essentially, they ship the game a week or so early so I get it right on the Release Date!
In fact, I have heard of several people getting their game a few days early, which is simply not possible any other way.
Step 2: Read The Forums
After you go ahead and pre order Guild Wars 2, you should really familiarize yourself with the Guild Wars 2 Forums.
This is the official forum for the game and even has posts by developers. This website is essential to learning more about the game and enhancing your gaming experience. Knowing more about the game as you begin to play will provide a much more full experience rather than going in blindly.
Step 3: Watch Youtube Videos
I would really recommend watching interview videos on Youtube. These journalists talk straight to the developers who can explain much better than I can obviously, and you can say game play demos take place. They do a very good job of presenting their game in a very attractive way.
Step 4: Participate in Open Beta
When the open beta is released, I will for sure be playing as fast as I can. There is no better way to get a feel for the game then playing in the beta. It is also highly recommended to attempt to find flaws in the game so the developers can fix them and release it pristine.
This is also a great opportunity to explore all the different races and professions so when you get the game on your doorstep on release day, you don’t have to sit there thinking about all the possible combinations to choose from.
Step 5: Hone Your Skills
No one likes to watch everyone fail online around them. Getting everyone killed because they messed up. Admit it, that was you once. Well that was me too, and same with everyone.
But the difference is I learned from my mistakes, no longer was I getting yelled at in chat. I started to get better and you know what? I was having more fun too. The truth is most people just aren’t good when they start things, so it takes practice to get better.
One thing that helped me was playing the original Guild Wars. You can count of Guild Wars 2 being loosely based on the original so it never hurts to familiarize yourself with it.
